Apulia
Apulia is a region of southern Italy, bordered to the north-west, Molise, on the west by Campania and Basilicata, and is washed by the Adriatic Sea to the east and the Ionian Sea to the north and south.
Besides being the easternmost region of Italy, Apulia, with about 800 km of coastline is one of the Italian regions with increased coastal development. The coast consists of rocky areas (Gargano) cliffs (south of Bari and Salento), but also sandy beaches (along the Gulf of Taranto).
Apulia belongs to the archipelago of Tremiti, north-east off the Gargano coast, small islands Cheradi at Taranto and the island of St. Andrew in front of the coast of Gallipoli.
This region has a long coastline with beaches and cliffs, the art of cities, numerous villages, archaeological and fine food and wine.
Among the natural attractions include: the Gargano, seaside tourist area that includes the National Park of Gargano, the archipelago of Tremiti, one of the most important tourist centers of the region for the quality of its bathing water, Murge plateau, located in the central area of Puglia, with its National Park of Alta Murgia, which has an area of 67,739 hectares; the Caves of Castellana, the complex of underground caverns of karst origin, in the south of Bari, is of great caving and tourist importance.
